Happy hour

Every happy hour we can stand behind in Jacksonville, with what is actually cheaper rather than the words “drink specials”. Windows change without notice — the venue is the source of truth.

  • 11am–5pmMon–Fri

    Lemon BarWeekday happy hour

    Neptune Beach $$

Six hours of it, from the moment the bar opens. All wells are $4, house wines are $4, and drafts are $4 or $5 depending on the pour - the menu tells you to ask your server which. It is the cheap end of a list whose specialty drinks otherwise run $10 and whose frozen drinks run $12 to $15.

  • 11am–6pmMon–Thu

    Oaxaca ClubWeekday happy hour

    Jax Beach $$$

Seven hours of it, and everything on the list is $8, $5 or $4. Street tacos at $8 are carne molida, pollo en mole or a potato dorado; the $8 plates are a shrimp cocktail, Mexican street corn, mole chicken nachitos, corn fritters, a barbacoa tostada and carne fries. Cocktails are $8 - the OC Margarita, a mezcal mule built on the house Oaxaca Club mezcal, an Oaxaca old fashioned, a paloma, the Soleado Spritz and the OC Handshake. Wine is $5 a glass for the Terre di Rai Pinot Grigio or the Honoro Vera Tempranillo, and beer is $4 for draft Dos Equis Amber, Modelo or Miller Lite, or a Charro Mexican Pilsner.

  • 11am–midnightMon

The Casbah CafeMonday all-day happy hour

    Avondale $$$

On Mondays the Casbah drops the 3-to-7 window and runs happy hour all day, so the discounted beer, wine, wells and hookahs hold from the 11am open to the midnight close. Godiva plays at 8pm. No prices are published.

  • noon–4pmMon–Thu

Keg & CoinWeekday afternoon happy hour

    Riverside $$

A happy hour from the noon open until 4pm, Monday to Thursday. The bar publishes no prices for it and does not say what is included; Folio’s 2023 write-up of the place mentions draft beer at $3 but does not tie that figure to the window.

  • 2–7pmMon–Thu

    Al's PizzaWeekday happy hour

    Jax Beach $$

Draft beers and house wines at $3, from two in the afternoon until seven. Monday from 4pm the pasta night runs alongside it at $12.99 a plate, and Tuesday is $12.99 calzones all day.

  • 3–9pmMon

    Fishweir Brewing CompanyMonday drink deal

    Murray Hill $$

A different discount every Monday, running the taproom’s whole Monday trading day of 3pm to 9pm: 20% off package beer to take away on 10 August, $2 off full pours on 24 August, and buy-one-get-one lagers on 31 August. Fishweir posts the offer week by week on its events calendar rather than holding a standing happy hour menu, so what is cheap depends on which Monday you walk in.

  • 3–7pmMon–Fri

    Lynch's Irish PubWeekday happy hour

    Jax Beach $$

Domestic drafts drop to $3 and Tullamore Dew to $4, with a $5 tier covering Stoli and its flavours, Hendrick’s gin, Milagro tequila, Jack Daniel’s, Sailor Jerry rum and house wines. No food specials are attached.

  • 3–6pmMon–Fri

    Mojo Bar-B-QueWeekday happy hour

    San Marco $$

A dollar off beer and wine, and that is the whole of it - the restaurant names no qualifying beers or wines, publishes no food discount and has no separate happy hour menu. Its FAQ puts it as “All hours spent at Mojo are happy ones, but the Happiest of Hours occur Monday-Friday from 3-6”.

  • 3–7pmEvery day

    The Casbah CafeDaily happy hour

    Avondale $$$

Discounted beer, wine and wells, and discounted hookahs, every day of the week from 3 to 7. The Casbah publishes no prices for any of it. Hookah service is 21 and over, needs two forms of ID and requires a drink order - water counts if you are eating - and carries a $100 damage charge.

  • 3–7pmMon–Sat

    V PizzaSidecar happy hour

    San Marco $$

V Pizza publishes the window for Sidecar, the cocktail bar inside its San Marco store, but not what comes off the price. Its bars page says only “Happy Hour Every day 3-7PM” against a list of house cocktails, microbrews and spirits, and tells drinkers to ask for the Cocktail of the Week. Sunday runs on a different, all-day window and is filed separately.

  • 4–6pmMon–Fri

    River & PostWeekday happy hour

    Riverside $$$

Wine by the glass is half price, well liquor drinks are $5, beers are $2 off, and wings and flatbreads are half price. It runs in the first-floor dining room and on the ninth-floor rooftop lounge, which is first-come, first-served and does not take reservations.

  • 4–7pmMon–Sat

    The GarageHappy hour

    Riverside $$

A dollar off draft beer, $1 glasses of wine and $3.75 for all 3 Olives vodka. That is the whole published list: no food deal, and nothing on the cocktails or on the rest of the wine.

  • 4–6pmSun–Thu

The Grape & Grain ExchangeSunday to Thursday happy hour

    San Marco $$$

Draft beer opens at $3 for Dos Equis and $3.50 for Miller Lite, with Stella Artois at $4, Stiegl and Bell’s Two Hearted at $4.50, and Guinness and the boilermaker at $5. Wines by the glass start at $6 - Santa Julia Malbec, La Fiera Pinot Grigio, Line 39 Cabernet, Nicolas Chardonnay - then run up through $7 Vinho Verde and cava and $9 Cotes du Rhone to $13 for St. Hubert’s The Stag Cabernet and $14 for Lemelson Pinot Noir. No food specials are listed, which is consistent with a bar that runs charcuterie and snacks rather than a kitchen.

  • 4.30–6.30pmMon–Fri

    Matthew's RestaurantM Lounge happy hour

    San Marco $$$$$

Two dollars off bar bites, beer, wine by the glass, craft cocktails and house spirits, plus a $10 price on Grey Goose and Buffalo Trace cocktails. It is lounge-only — the restaurant states “Monday-Friday 4:30pm-6:30pm | Only in the M Lounge” — and the lounge itself is open from 4.30pm to 10pm on weekdays. Dress is business casual and guests who do not meet it are seated in the lounge rather than the dining room.

  • 4.30–10pmMon

    Matthew's RestaurantHalf-price wine Mondays

    San Marco $$$$$

“More than 200 of the wines in our cellar are half-priced every Monday,” by the bottle. Bottles left out of the offer are marked with an asterisk on the wine list, and it cannot be combined with any other promotion. This is separate from the lounge happy hour, which runs on the same evening.

  • 5–9pmMon

    Rue Saint-MarcBubbles & Pearls

    San Marco $$$$

Oysters at $3 each and cut prices on the house’s favourite bottles of Champagne and sparkling wine, across the whole of Monday dinner service at a MICHELIN-recommended bistro. The oysters are first come, first served, and the restaurant warns they sell out.
